.deb package not installing under Ubuntu, reports errors

Post by metamorphosis »

Am actually in Xubuntu 15.10, but both use Ubuntu Software Center for installs.

At any rate, trying to install the latest codelite via the .deb package results in the software center reporting permissions errors within the .deb package. Specifically, one or more files have the wrong permissions. I'll try to get a screenshot next time I'm in linux.

Also, just a note: the consta-reappearing/disappearing horizontal scrollbar is quite distracting when scrolling through/pgdowning through code - would be better if the editor established whether or not the scrollbar was necessary based on the overall code width, and either enabled it or disabled it.

Here's the screenshot:

Weirdly, ignoring and installing didn't work the first time around, installation failed. Second time it seems to have installed?

Search the forum: the weekly builds produces errors (harmless ones)
You can choose to install (which will work) and stick to the official version

Please read the "Weekly Build" forum for each release, it includes an instructions on how to install these .deb files (hint: do not use the GUI)
