Text Find and Replace on 9.1.4

Post by ColinTaylor »

Codelite 9.1.4 / Windows 10

I haven't been able to get Find and Replace (activated by shortcut Ctrl+h) working, particularly on a selected block of text.

1. Select the block of text
2. Ctrl+h
3. Click the "Replace in selected text" button
4. Enter the Find text and Replace text

The step that is failing (I think) is the next one ...
5. Click Find to hopefully highlight the first occurrence of the Find text in the selected block
This step actually finds the first occurrence of Find text in the whole file

By default, when you type in the "Find What" is starts the search automatically, unless you select the option "Replace in selected text"
When this option is checked, the "Find What" only searches on ENTER

I think what you describe is how it *should* be working, I have just tried it again having read your response and I still can't get it to work :-(
When I get to the same point as shown in your screenshot, the Replace button remains greyed out and clicking Find isn't "ungreying" it.
I'll try it on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) and see if its the same there.

IIRC, the "Replace" button was never enabled for this feature, only "Replace All"
Correct me if I am wrong here...

I think you're right, but don't quote me on that ;-)

Clicking Replace all does work - cheers
