cc1.exe stopped working error message

Hi All

I get the error message "cc1.exe has stopped working" every time I open a file. Also when starting up code lite the message is displayed as many times as there are source files that get opened into the ide. I am using version 8.2.0 32bit on a windows 8.1 machine. Does anybody have a clue as to how to get rid of this message or what it means?
