Split-screen editor possible?

Hi guys,

I'm using version 9.1.0 stable for Windows.

I'm taking a Udemy course in C programming and one of the lessons has us opening two files to compare. They each open in their own tab and I can switch between them that way. But I'd prefer to have each tab split the editor space in two as the instructor does. The video is probably old but the teacher claims in a response to another person that it worked 6 months ago. I tried dragging the tab title but it just changes the order. Does this feature exist?
