Codelite 6.1 start time

Post by dlchnr »

On my Laptop (Dell Latitude D620, Win XP SP3) the start time of Codelite 6.1 has been increased enormous (10 x or 100 x) compared to Codelite 6.0
(I haven't measured the exact time, because I've seen Codelite's window only once, when I was interrupted by phone call).
Does anyone have an idea, what's going wrong on my D620?

I would suspect the new theme management which writes each lexer into separate XML file (in codelite 6.1 there are over 200 xml files)
My guess is that your disk is slow and this is why you notice this

I will see if this can be optimized somehow

Has Codelite 7.0 "be optimized somehow" regarding my problem?

And can it be used with XP (in description, XP isn't mendioned, while the download button include it)?

Thx dlchnr

The startup time of codelite was improved only if you run the proper binary. i.e if your xp is a 64 bit machine, you will notice the difference ( I doubt XP supports 64 bit)

there exists a 64bit version of XP, but I've only a license for the 32 bit version -
ok, it seems, I have to get happy with Codelite 6.0.
