12.0.10 missing splash

Hi,
I've noticed that the splash screen, and the corresponding option in Preferences to enable / disable is missing in latest official weekly builds. Tried under Windows 10 b1804 and Ubuntu 16.04 also. Was this removal intentional? (As the change list doesn't mention it as far as I could see).
