wxWidgets install help.

Hi all, first post here so please be gentle.
I've been trying to install wxWidgets to use with CodeLite for a few days with various degrees of success but still can't use it.
Before I start posting errors here's what I'm using.
CodeLite 9.2.0
WxWidgets 3.0.2
Windows 8.1
I've followed the instructions from both this site and the wxWidgets site but no joy.
Surely there must be a 'walkthrough'??
And BTW I'm building the sources as I had no luck with the installer.

Any help appreciated.
