space insertion

Hi,
I am facing a strange and annoying problem with typing space : codelite refuses to insert it into the edited file and interprets it as a shortcut to completion.
I am using the latest codelite 3.0 package for ubuntu. The environment is a gnome desktop with a french keyboard layout.
Does it make sense to you ?
