Building the same way with Release into /home/rick/devel/CLR/ worked properly as well.
I would recommend updating the GitHub README.md file to point to http://codelite.org/Developers/Linux#toc5 for the most up-to-date build instructions. When I came across those instructions on the GitHub page I assumed they were correct and didn't look further for alternate instructions. Hope that makes sense.
