printing hangs codelite

It would be nice to use the newly appeared feature of code lite in order to print a file from inside the IDE.
Unfortunately when I try to print the printer selection appears but when the command to print is given the whole program hangs.(menus are still working and selectable but not responding).
I even tried to print to pdf ( instead of a real printer ) but the result is the same.
The version used is codelite version 9.10, ubuntu 16.04 ( but the same was happening on 15.10 ).
The new version was downloaded automatically by the codelite update.
Any ideas ?
