Searching the forums

Post by KristianKarl »

Hi,

I know that this may be a bit off topic for this forum, but I did not find a better place to post. :-)

Ever so often when I search the forums of CodeLite I get this very annoying piece of answer:
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: etc"

I my opinion, this 'filter' does more harm than good. For example. When I search for "select multiple files" I get this answer. I do not think that the combination of those words 'are too common'. Is this 'blocking functionality' really necessary? It does not improve the user experience of the forum anyhow.

Am I the only one?

/Regards Kristian

PS: Every day I use CodeLite, I get more and more impressed! Keep up the good work! DS

I tried to play around with phpBB admin panel, and I increased the results the message threshold from 5% to 20%

Hope it will help

Unfortunately for the search "select multiple files" not. Both when I tried searching all forums, and just this (Using CodeLite) forum.

I would say, getting to much is better than nothing. But that's me I suppose :-)

I must agree,
searching for 'output pane' showed me this message too.
This is not helpful.

It seems like a bug in the phpBB forum:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1282045

Fixed now, I re-created the forum index and it seems to be working fine now
